Inter Milan right-back Maicon has confessed he is relishing the prospect of signing for Real Madrid in the summer.
The Brazil international's future at the Giuseppe Meazza has been in doubt after Real Madrid's new boss, Jose Mourinho, admitted he had marked the defender high on his shortlist.
Reports in England have claimed that Manchester City have stepped in to hijack Madrid's move for Maicon, but the former Monaco defender has no interest in moving to Eastlands.
"What I want is to play for Madrid and it would be an honour for me to be there because I have said it would be a great opportunity in my career," he told AS.
"With Manchester City I have nothing, I can assure that. I will make it very clear to prevent misunderstandings: I want to play for Madrid, I do not want to go to Manchester City.
"Moreover, I repeat that I have nothing with the English club."
Meanwhile, Maicon, who stressed his priority now is the Brazilian World Cup squad, noted he would enjoy a reunion with Mourinho after playing under him at Inter.
"Mourinho is a great coach, and I think no one can argue that. I have a great relationship with him and it would be very good for me to be at his service again," he added.
"We won many things together and I hope to repeat that. He is one of the best coaches I have across in my life."
