AC Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida has insisted that forwad Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is not for sale.
The Holland international has been linked with a new challenge after a disappointing first season at the San Siro in which he scored just seven goals.
Benfica have been mooted as an interested party in Huntelaar as they plan to bring in a striker in case Oscar Cardozo leaves the club in the summer.
It had been suggested that the good relationship between Benfica sporting director Rui Costa and Milan would help the transfer come to life, but Braida has ruled out the Dutchman's exit.
"Milan do not want to sell Huntelaar, this is a player who has three more years of contract with us," he told Diario de Noticias. "Huntelaar has quality and we do not want to let him leave.
"In football, anything is possible, but I find it very hard that Huntelaar is transferred to another club. Rui Costa is a friend, a friend of Milan, an ex-player of Milan and a lovable person. We have never spoken about Huntelaar."
