Lazio’s Aleksandar Kolarov Prefers La Liga Over Serie A

The Serbian spoke favourably at the chance to work under Mourinho in Madrid...
Aleksandar Kolarov has been highly tipped with a move away from the Italian capital following another impressive season amidst difficult circumstances with Lazio. After having been linked with a move to Inter last summer, it seems this year the favourites are currently Real Madrid.

“I keep hearing my name linked with the Merengues,” Kolarov admitted to Marca.

“The reports say Real Madrid want me and that I would prefer a move to Inter. In reality neither club has contacted me yet.

“I am aware that Jose Mourinho will replace Manuel Pellegrini on the Blancos bench. Last year the Portuguese coach was reported to be interested in me. We will see what happens but for now my sole focus is on the World Cup.

“Spain has always been a country that fascinates me. I like the country and the way they play their football. When I’m not playing for Lazio I always follow La Liga.

“The Spanish league is more of a spectacle than Serie A and for my game I’m sure it would favour me. In Italy it's too tactical and this makes it harder for me to express myself.”
