Manchester United Set To Extend Wayne Rooney's Contract - Report

Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer Wayne Rooney a new £150,000-a-week contract before he sets off for the World Cup.
According to the News of the World,  the Red Devils are keen to warn off potential suitors Real Madrid regarding the England international's future.

Rooney, who still has two years left on his current deal at Old Trafford, has been the subject of speculation this week regarding a £90 million bid from the Spanish giants.

United are desperate to push through a deal for their 34-goal striker before he leaves for South Africa, and are said to be prepared to include separate bonuses as part of the package.

These are believed to include if Rooney were to win the FIFA World Player of the Year awards and other individual accolades.

The ex-Everton player, now 24, has been in the form of his career this season and has the potential to become a stellar performer at this summer's World Cup.

Although as Rooney gears up for showcasing his talents on a global stage, United want to tie down their talisman before he is tempted by a move to any other interested parties.
