Yoann Gourcuff Likely To Leave Girondins De Bordeaux For €25 Million If Laurent Blanc Departs - Report

The future of Gourcuff seems to be tied inextricably to that of his coach, though the creative midfielder will come at a price for any potential suitor...
Should head coach Laurent Blanc depart Girondins de Bordeaux for pastures new in the summer, it is probable that playmaker Yoann Gourcuff will follow ‘Le President’ away from the Stade Chaban-Delmas, a report from French radio station RMC has announced.

The young playmaker hinted earlier this week that he could be prepared to leave the Aquitaine outfit if Blanc, who has been his mentor for the last two seasons, departed the club, but it has now been suggested it is very likely the No.8 will leave if Blanc does first.

However, any potential buyer will have to reach deep into their pockets to fund a move for the highly-rated former Milan man. L’Equipe reports that Gourcuff has a minimum fee release clause of €25 million written into his contract, which is a good deal more than the €15m les Girondins paid the Rossoneri for his services last summer.

No concrete interest in the offensive midfielder has been reported in the French press, though it is thought that the most likely destinations for the Breton-born star are Italy or Spain, where there have been tentative murmurs that Real Madrid could make a swoop.
