Beleguaered Bundesliga outfit Bochum have completed the transfer of highly rated Schalke 04 youngster Lewis Holtby on a eighteen-month loan deal. Schalke have confirmed the move on their official website.
Bochum are battling against relegation and currently sit 14th in the league table. Head coach Heiko Herrlich recently asked for new signings in order to help avoid the drop to the 2. Bundesliga.
Holtby joined Schalke from Alemannia Aachen for a reported €3 million fee at the beginning of the season. The versatile attacker has made nine league appearances for Schalke so far, in which he set up two goals.
The 19-year-old has reportedly already joined up with his new team-mates and could make his official Bochum debut in Saturday's away game against Hertha Berlin.
