Report: Juventus Plan Move For Werder Bremen Ace Mesut Ozil

Juventus are planning to swoop for Werder Bremen midfielder Mesut Ozil, and they are likely to use Diego as a tool to convince him to join the Old Lady.

Il Corriere Dello Sport reports Juve are keen on the 21-year-old starlet who has been taking the Budesliga by storm. The report claims Diego has endorsed the move and the Bianconeri will be looking to spend around €8 million to land Ozil. The player is useful as a trequartista or he can adapt to play on the left flank, a valid solution for the void left by the retired Pavel Nedved.

Ozil's deal with Werder expires in 2011 and the German club are likely to clench their fists in light of an offer. They are keen to keep their man this winter. But a source of hope remains for Juve in June.

Meanwhile, rumours claim Juve are still keen on signing Cristian Ledesma of Lazio. But they need to wait on the Lega Calcio's decision ast to whether the player can rescind his deal in Rome. Furthermore, Inter are said to be interested in him after Goran Pandev invited him to join the club.
