Juventus have moved ahead of Inter in the race to sign Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma, as a number of absences in the middle have caused the club to shift up a gear in the transfer market.
Injuries to Christian Poulsen and Mauro Camoranesi, as well as Mohammed Sissoko's African Cup of Nations participation and Tiago's loan move to Atletico, have seen Alessio Secco fretting over reinforcements as the midfield becomes increasingly depleted.
Tuttosport claims the Bianconeri are now trying to muscle their way in for Ledesma and forge a bond with him and Lazio. The Aquilotti are eager to sell their man rather than lose him on a free deal, as he has applied to the Lega Calcio for a contract rescission.
A decision on that matter may arrive as soon as next week, but Juve are hoping to wrap up a move before then in order to beat off competition from Inter, Genoa and Fiorentina.
