Lazhar Hadj Aissa: Portsmouth Want To Keep Me

The Algerian playmaker is still training with the club even though the transfer window has closed.
Algerian international midfielder Lazhar Hadj Aissa has told Le Buteur that Portsmouth would like to keep him, but must solve some administrative issues before being able to do so.

The player has been training with the Premier League outfit for the last few weeks. However, he did not secure a contract prior to the passing of the trade deadline.

“Contrary to what a lot of people have been saying, I’m still training with Portsmouth and the club officials have told me that they are pretty satisfied with the tests I went through. The first step has been taken successfully. Now I hope my administrative situation can be solved,” he explained.

“It’s true that the transfer deadline passed but there’s still a chance I could become part of the team through other routes. The Portsmouth officials are in constant contact with my agent to try to find a solution that will let me sign after the deadline.”

Meanwhile, the “Arab Baggio” also indicated that even if he doesn’t sign with Portsmouth in the coming days, he could return to his Algerian side, ES Setif, on loan until the winter transfer window, and then make his move to the Premiership.
