Report: Milan Eye Palmeiras Starlet Marquinhos

Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani admitted earlier this week that the Diavoli are on the lookout for fresh blood to inject into the side and he is hoping to unearth the ‘new Kaka’.

And according to Sportmediaset.it, the Via Turati directors have already identified Palmeiras teenage wonderkid Marcos Antonio da Silva Gonçalves, best known as Marquinhos, as a prime candidate.

It is suggested that Milan are in advanced talks with the Brazilian side and the 19-year-old could land in Italy’s fashion capital during the January transfer window.

Marquinhos made his name at Vitoria playing as a trequartista, but has now developed into a more complete player and can be employed both as a second striker or out wide where he excels thanks to his pace and technical qualities.

Milan have a non-EU spot open after Uruguayan Tabare Viudez rescinded his contract by mutual consent and the Rossoneri directors seem to believe that Marquinhos possesses all the attributes to follow in the footsteps of Kaka, who left San Siro for Spanish giants, Real Madrid this summer.
