Napoli’s Nicolas Navarro Joins River Plate On Loan

The goalkeeper has achieved his dream of joining the South American giants.

The final details of Nicolas Navarro’s move from Napoli to River Plate have been finalised, with the official confirmation of the deal announced just moments ago, according to Tuttonapoli.net.

Navarro has agreed to join the Argentine outfit on a season-long loan, with no option of making it a permanent stay at its completion, as his Italian club would like to reclaim him next term.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper signed with the Partenopei in 2008 from Argentinos Juniors; however, he has always declared that his dream was to join River in the Argentine Primera Division.

River had been tracking the player for quite some time, and if everything goes according to plan, he will become their first-choice goalkeeper, which consequently will give himself every chance of earning a place in Diego Maradona’s Argentina squad for the 2010 World Cup.

The Azzurri are expected to release an official announcement on their website in the morning.
