Official: Amir Akrout Joins Club Africain

The former stade Tunisien player has signed a three-year contract with the Biancorosso.
Tunisian striker Amir Akrout has joined Club Africain, ending months of speculation on the issue of his future. The player, who had a brief stint with Freiburg in Germany last year, was reportedly sought after by other Tunisian league sides, but his signing confirms rumors that had been circulating for weeks linking him to the red and white outfit.

The move gives coach Pierre Lechantre another desperately needed solution at centre forward, as both Mohamed Traore and Ezenwa Otorogo have not hit the greatest form in this early stage of the season.

In an interview with Mosaique FM following the transfer, Akrout expressed his satisfaction with the move, while thanking Stade Tunisien fans for their support and asking Club Africain supporters for patience while he adjusts to his new surrounds.

“I have a big responsibility waiting for me. I’m happy with the new contract and, god willing, I’ll make the Club Africain fans happy too. I ask them only to be patient with me and hopefully I won’t let them down,” he explained.
