Free agent Julio Cruz is no closer to joining Lazio according to the club's sporting director Igli Tare.
Reports on Thursday morning claimed Cruz had snubbed a one-year offer from Roma, to accept an enticing two year offer from the Giallorossi's fierce city rivals.
It was suggested the Aquile offered Cruz the two year deal he was looking for, but Tare has other ideas as he plays down the hype.
"Cruz is not near Lazio. It's normal for a player like him to interest us, but not only us, everyone," Tare told Tuttomercatoweb.com.
Tare also gave an update on the Goran Pandev rumours, but the player appears like he is staying at the club for now.
"Developments for Pandev? Until today there has been nothing," added the former striker.
Lazio are preparing for their showdown Supercoppa Italiana clash with champions Inter on August 8 in Beijing.
