Former Inter and Lazio winger Cesar is trying to engineer a move to Sampdoria, admitting he has already spoken to the Genoa-based side.
The Brazilian winger is a free agent following his one-year spell at Bologna. Blucerchiati director Beppe Marotta has been working hard to try and find a left-winger to play in coach Luigi Del Neri's 4-4-2 setup next term and Cesar appears to fit the bill.
Fiorentina's Franco Semioli has also been touted as a possibility, but Cesar has edged ahead in the race.
"It's true, I have spoken to Del Neri and I have had contacts with Sampdoria," Cesar told Radio Incontro.
'Doria are aiming to keep spending down this summer as they strengthen their squad ahead of next season. Del Neri will be hoping to aim for the European places, with Antonio Cassano once again at the forefront of his plans.
