A Roman derby could ensue between Lazio and Roma for free agent Julio Cruz, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The former Inter man has been flashing his CV around to various clubs and Lazio have responded positively. Reports this week suggested he was close to completing his move there, but emerging details from this morning's Gazzetta claim otherwise.
The report suggests Cruz is waiting before making a commitment in the hope that he will receive an better offer from elsewhere. That offer is reportedly set to arrive from Aquilotti city rivals Roma who are keen on landing a striker.
Earlier voices claimed the club could offload Mirko Vucinic to Chelsea for €23million and the idea would be to replace him with Cruz who would arrive on a free transfer after being released by Inter.
Vucinic is keen on staying though. However, Julio Baptista has been tipped to leave the Olimpico this term and his departure would make room for the Argentinean. Cruz has not made any comments as to where his future lies just yet as speculation continues to spread.
