Report: Juventus Set To Lodge Official Bid For Fiorentina Ace Felipe Melo

The Old Lady officials will meet with their Viola counterparts today...
After negotiations with Udinese for Italy international Gaetano D’Agostino broke down, Juventus have focused their attention on Fiorentina and Brazil midfielder Felipe Melo, and Turin-based daily La Stampa claims that the Bianconeri will formally open talks with the Viola today.

Director of sport Alessio Secco and general manager Jean-Claude Blanc will see Fiorentina transfer guru Pantaleo Corvino to make an official offer, with a bid in the region of €16 million plus the full services of winger Marco Marchionni expected.

Fiorentina announced last night that Marchionni is set to join the club in a €2.5m co-ownership deal and press reports suggest he will tie himself to the Tuscans for the next three seasons.

Melo has a release clause of €25m in his new contract, which was signed last month, but Juve are hoping to include Marchionni’s rights in the deal for the Brazilian. Zdenek Grygera, who is valued at €3m, could also be involved in the transfer.

Meanwhile, Sky Italia reports that the Melo’s agent, Jose Rodriguez Baster, has flown in to Florence to oversee talks between the clubs.
