Milan have completed the signings of 18-year-old Gianmarco Zigoni and 17-year-old Giacomo Beretta, while parting with defender Luca Antonelli and striker Pierre Aubameyang.
“AC Milan have released the player Luca Antonelli to Parma on a permanent transfer and Pierre Aubameyang to Lille on loan with a right to buy in favour of the French club,” reads an official note on the Rossoneri’s website.
“Milan have also acquired Gianmarco Zigoni from Treviso on a permanent transfer and Giacomo Beretta from Albinoleffe in a co-ownership deal.”
Beretta and Zigoni have made waves at youth level in the peninsula, with the latter netting over 100 goals before making his professional debut in Serie B with Treviso last season, for whom he hit two goals.
Zigoni is the son of former Juventus, Roma and Verona striker Gianfranco Zigoni, who cost Milan the Serie A title in 1973 as he starred in a 5-3 win over the Diavoli, who needed a success to clinch the Scudetto on the last day of the season. As a result, Milan fans still refer to the Veneto city as the ‘Fatal Verona’.
