Roberto Mancini Could Coach Japan - Franco Rossi

Former Inter coach Roberto Mancini is being tipped to lead Japan during World Cup 2010 after his friend, the journalist Franco Rossi, revealed the possibility in an interview with Ilsussidiario.net.

The coach has been looking to get back into football following his sacking from the Nerazzurri last summer. Mancini has been linked with posts in England. However, his future could lie further afield, according to Rossi.

"The Japanese national team could sign Mancini for the World Cup. He is a coach who costs plenty to employ and thus the market for him is tight," Rossi said.

Signing Mancini will not be easy as he is still under contract with Inter. In addition, Japan would have to get rid of current coach Takeshi Okada. That possibility is difficult as Okada has just led the team to 2010 qualification.

As things stand, there has not been any official comment from Mancini or his entourage.
