Gaetano D'Agostino Move To Juventus Collapses, Now Mahamadou Diarra – Report

Juventus are now reconsidering their transfer plans, and they are eyeing Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra after the move for Udinese star Gaetano D'Agostino collapsed.

The Bianconeri were deep in negotiations on Thursday night with the Friulani directors over the Italian, however, a deal could not be reached. The player’s price was the issue. Udinese wanted €16 million for their player plus the co-ownership of either Sebastian Giovinco or Claudio Marchisio. Juventus were not keen on taking the deal further, and, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, alternatives are already being mooted.

Real Madrid's Diarra is now back on the list in Turin. Juventus want to take the midfielder on an initial loan deal, with the option to buy him next year. Voices suggest the Mali international does not fall within president Florentino Perez's plans at the Santiago Bernabeu, leading to speculation he will leave this summer. It is said Diarra would welcome a move to the Old Lady as he would team up with Mali international team-mate Mohamed Sissoko in midfield.

The other alternative would be Lazio's Cristian Ledesma. He seems set to leave Rome, but Juve would have to beat Milan, Inter and Fiorentina to the punch.
