Report: Juventus Join Queue For Lecce Defender Andrea Esposito

The Bianconeri are pondering a bid for the promising 23-year-old central defender.
Juventus directors are reportedly scouring the market for a centre-back to bolster Ciro Ferrara’s defensive options and Turin daily Tuttosport claims they could turn to Lecce man Andrea Esposito.

The 23-year-old impressed last term and is widely expected to leave the Salentini this summer following their relegation to Serie B.

However, Juve will face stiff competition from Roma and Fiorentina for his services.

Roma seemed on the verge of completing his signing a few weeks ago, however, negotiations are now on hold due to their protracted takeover saga.

But Fiorentina are reportedly making headway, with Viola director of sport Pantaleo Corvino holding a meeting yesterday with his opposite number at Lecce, Guido Angelozzi.

Esposito is being tipped for great things in the peninsula and a bid in the region of €7 million should be enough to prise him away from the Stadio Via del Mare.

Juve are also following Napoli central defender Fabiano Santacroce but have yet to lodge a formal offer.
