The agent of Gremio's Douglas Costa has claimed that Premier League giants Manchester United are interested in signing the highly-rated starlet.
It is said that the Brazil Under-20 international has been tracked by the Red Devils for around two years since being discovered by their scouts in South America.
The 5ft 8in midfielder has been dubbed 'the new Ronaldinho' in the past and the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Inter have all been linked with him previously.
Gremio are believed to have tied the 18-year-old down with a four-year contract not too long ago, but it is thought that should United come knocking, they would allow him to leave for the right price.
"They [Manchester United] have identified
four or five possible replacements for Cristiano Ronaldo in the world,
and Douglas is one of them," Costa's representative Cesar Bottega told Radio Gaucha.
"We have been contacted by several clubs some time ago, including Manchester [United], but by South American ones as well."
