Report: Bayern Munich Plan €20m Bid For Fiorentina ‘Keeper Sebastien Frey

According to reports in the Corriere dello Sport, Bayern Munich are ready to put €20 million on Fiorentina’s table to take goalkeeper Sebastien Frey to the Allianz Arena.

The Bundesliga giants have been keeping tabs on the 29-year-old for several months and rumours about a potential summer bid first emerged in April.

It is suggested that Bayern are preparing a lavish four-year contract worth €3m a year for Frey, who is tied to the Stadio Franchi outfit until June 2013.

However, Viola director of sport Pantaleo Corvino has recently insisted that none of their top stars are up for sale and Frey reiterated his desire to stay put in Tuscany last week.

The paper talk has not stopped Corvino from looking for replacements, though, and the transfer guru travelled to Spain last week to talk to the agent of highly-rated Valladolid goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo.

But Asenjo looks set to join Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina might turn to Cagliari shot-stopper Federico Marchetti or Genoa man Rubinho.
