According to a report in the British tabloid The News of the World, Premier League club Everton are prepared to go head to head with a number of suitors for the signature of David Suazo at the end of the season.
The Honduras international is currently on loan at Portuguese side Benfica from Italian giants Inter, who are prepared to sell him this summer.
The 29-year-old has recently been linked with a switch to fellow Serie A club Napoli, but his agent Giovanni Branchini has revealed that he will not be playing in Italy in the 2009/10 campaign.
"David's future won't be in Italy but in England or Spain. Several clubs have contacted me," Branchini is quoted as saying.
Manchester City are also thought to be keeping tabs on the 5ft 11in forward who is said to be worth around €8 million (£7m).
However, the likes of Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Villarreal could all try to persuade the former Olimpia and Cagliari star to move to the Primera Division.
