Report: Inter Target Villarreal Ace Giuseppe Rossi

The Nerazzurri are willing to follow Mourinho’s diktat to the letter and are considering a bid for the Italian international.

Inter boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that the Beneamata need to invest heavily on Italian prospects to build a more solid foundation for the future. There are rumours in the nation’s press that the Nerazzurri could make a move for Villarreal and Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi this summer.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the ex-Manchester United man is top of the Portuguese’s hit-list. Mourinho, it is considered, sees Rossi as the ideal man to fill the role of second striker.

Rossi has enjoyed a wonderful time in Spain since moving from the Red Devils in 2007 and has netted 23 goals for Villarreal so far.

Another Italian target for the Via Durini directors could be Udinese star Fabio Quagliarella, who has already been tracked by the Nerazzurri in recent seasons.

However, the Neapolitan hitman has long been on the shopping list of Juventus and seems likely to head for Turin at the end of the season.

Inter will also bring back Robert Acquafresca from Cagliari. The 21-year-old has impressed in Sardinia over the past two seasons and seems ready to prove his worth on the big stage.
