Japan's Daigo Kobayashi Joins Norway's Stabaek IF

Ex-Japanese international midfielder Daigo Kobayashi has joined Norwegian side Stabaek IF on a one-year loan.
The deal has been on-and-off for some time but a deal ending on January 31 2010 has finally been sealed.

The 25 year-old will leave J-league club Omiya Ardija to join the team that offers the possibility of Champions League football last season.

Kobayashi has scored 18 league goals in 194 for Omiya since joining from Tokyo Verdy in 2006.

Kobayashi, who impressed the top-flight team in a trial last month, made just one appearance from the national team back in 2006.

He will take the shirt just vacated by Icelandic international Veigar Páll Gunnarsson.
