Estudiantes Captain Veron To Miss Nacional Semi-final

It was confirmed that the Estudiantes de La Plata captain will miss the return leg of the Copa Libertadores semi-final...
Estudiantes de La Plata midfielder, Juan Sebastian Veron, is more than likely to miss the crucial encounter with Nacional in Montevideo on Wednesday, because of a muscular problem.

La Brujita Veron suffered the injury in the first leg of the tie last week in La Plata, and tests revealed that he won't be able to play the full ninety minutes.

The midfielder was replaced in the second half of the match that his team won 1-0. Matias Sanchez was his replacement.

Reports indicate that Veron won't start the match against Nacional, but he could come on as a second half substitute if needed.

His absence is a major blow for Estudiantes, who depend on the Argentine international for most of their midfield work.

Another player who is in doubt for the match is sweeper Christian Cellay. He was also injured during the match with the hard-tackling Uruguayans.

With only a draw at the Centenario stadium Estudiantes will progress to the final of the Copa Libertadores, where they will either meet Cruzeiro or Gremio of Brazil.
