Mallorca Boss Michael Laudrup: We Must Not Go Crazy Against Almeria

Mallorca coach Michael Laudrup has requested that his team remain level-headed heading into their Copa del Rey match with Almeria at the Iberostar Stadium this evening.

The Islanders trail 4-3 from the first leg, meaning that a 1-0 victory would be enough to see them progress on the away goals rule.

The Dane however believes that his team should exercise patience, and not take a gung-ho approach to the contest.

He remarked: “We need to be careful, because we must not go crazy. In the second part of the game, we must play with the same intensity that we showed in the win over Hercules.”

Laudrup also added that he hopes to give the club’s young talent more first team football in the second half of the season, saying: “My job is to keep the team in the division, and also to work for the future.

“The veterans next year will be a year older, and for some it will be their final season, so we need to know how the young players do. Let’s give them another chance.”
