Real Madrid Youngster Alvaro Morata Pleased With Bernabeu Debut Against Levante

Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata has expressed his delight at having made his debut at the Santiago Bernabeu in los Blancos' 8-0 victory over Levante in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday evening.

The 18-year-old came on as substitute for Karim Benzema in the 77th minute and made a favourable impression, with the Madrid fans in attendance lending him their support.

"I am very happy because we earned a great victory and made the knockout stage easier for ourselves," said Morata, according to Madrid's official website. "I was a bit disappointed because I really wanted to score my first goal with the team.

"It was amazing to hear the Bernabeu chant my name. Several Castilla players have made their first team debut this season and it's great that people support us. I am a Real Madrid Castilla player and my only objective is to make good use of all the chances I get."

Morata kept the match-ball that was signed by the Madrid squad with Cristiano Ronaldo writing, 'Don't worry, you will score many more goals.'

The academy graduate conveyed his gratitude and enthused, "It was an incredible gesture from all of them."
