thumbnail Hello,

The Nerazzurri coach has acknowledged that they cannot afford to spill any points against Chievo after a run of poor results

Walter Mazzarri has insisted that Inter must turn things around as soon as possible in order to keep their Champions League ambitions alive as they prepare for Monday's Serie A game against Chievo.

The Nerazzurri have been struggling to find their best form in 2014 as they were beaten by Lazio and Udinese in their first two games since the winter break ended and Mazzarri has acknowledged that they cannot afford to spill any more points.

"The new year has started badly, but we need to turn it around and we’re hoping to do it right away," Mazzarri stated at a press conference.

"I hope to see a great atmosphere at the stadium tomorrow and for everyone to help us out a bit. And then we have to contribute to it with our play, and by staying sharp in defence.

"We hope to get going as soon as possible. This won’t be an easy game. We have to try to turn this negative period into a positive one."

Mazzarri also briefly had his say on new arrival Ruben Botta and stressed that the Argentine has the potential to become a big success at Inter.

"Botta? He’s a talented lad, and clever. He has the right stuff to become a champion. In the meantime, I have to concentrate on earning points."

Inter currently sit sixth in the Serie A table with 31 points from 18 games.
