Maradona: Higuain will be an instant hit at Juventus

The Argentine legend believes the Real Madrid striker could be a revelation in the Italian top flight and will challenge for the league's top-scorer prize
Diego Maradona is confident that Gonzalo Higuain has what it takes to succeed at Juventus if he were to leave Real Madrid for the Serie A champions this summer.

The Argentina international has already agreed terms in principle with the Turin powerhouse ahead of a summer move, and Maradona believes that his compatriot will be challenging for the Serie A topscorer's title in 2013-14 should the move go through.

"If Higuain becomes a Juventus player and gets regular first team action, I am convinced that he can win the capocanonniere trophy next season," Maradona was quoted as saying by Tuttosport.

The 25-year-old has a contract with Real Madrid until June 2016, but general manager Jose Angel Sanchez admitted earlier this season that Higuain is likely to be on his way out following an inauspicious campaign with los Blancos.

Madrid have set a €25 million asking price for Higuain, but Juventus have so far only been willing to go as high as €20m in their valuation.
