Moratti: Inter will strengthen this summer

The Nerazzurri boss is keen to add some fresh blood to the squad ahead of next season and admits it is hard to judge Andrea Stramaccioni's performance as coach
Inter president Massimo Moratti has vowed to strengthen the team in the summer transfer window after a disappointing 2012-13 campaign.

The Giuseppe Meazza side sit only eighth in the Serie A table with two more games to go and are likely to miss out on qualification for European football following their 3-1 defeat to Lazio on Wednesday, much to the disappointment of Moratti.

"Building a great Inter team for the future? We're going to strengthen the team," the Inter supremo told Sky Italia.

"We will have to look at how exactly, but we want players with character, courage and a strong work ethic who can have a decent campaign and obtain a positive result next season."

Moratti also briefly had his say on Andrea Stramaccioni's future and admitted that it's hard to judge the young coach due to Inter's misfortune with injuries.

"My assessment of Stramaccioni? We did well this year up to a certain point and then various things went against us, we had a series of injuries, so it's hard to judge.

"Our first priority at the moment is to concentrate on the football side of things and our transfer campaign."
