Fiorentina deserved to beat Inter, says Delio Rossi

Fiorentina coach Delio Rossi has said that his side deserved more than a goalless draw against Inter at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The Viola had a great opportunity to take the lead in the second half after Andrea Lazzarri was felled by Julio Cesar inside the box, but Adem Ljajic failed to convert from the spot.

"Inter are stronger than us, but we showed a great spirit," Rossi told Sky Sport Italia. "We suffered and played too deep on some occasions, but matches are decided by incidents and we deserved to win.

"Inter had two or three shots on goal without creating danger, while we built solid plays and had several dubious offside decisions against us, but the incidents did not certainly help us."

Fiorentina lie in 15th position in the Serie A table, but Rossi guaranteed that the club's fans have always supported the club.

"They have always been close to the team, but obviously they will show their unhappiness when we are not playing with the required spirit.

"If we had always played like this, then they would be happier with our season."
