Delio Rossi pleased to be linked with Inter job

The ex-Palermo tactician has expressed his happiness at being one of the names touted for Gian Piero Gasperini's job, but insists that there has been no contact between any parties
Former Palermo coach Delio Rossi admits he is happy to see his name being mentioned as a possible successor to Gian Piero Gasperini at Inter.

The rumour mill has gone into overdrive regarding potential replacements for the current Inter tactician, who has lost all three of his competitive matches so far.

"It's pleasing to be linked with such an important club, the world champions," Rossi admitted to Sky Sport Italia.

However, he stopped short of claiming that any talks have occurred, but did praise club president Massimo Moratti.

"It's nice because it means that I have done well, however, there is a difference between being linked and being contacted," he said.

“I don’t know Moratti, so I can’t make any judgements about him. A person must be seen up close, but in any case, he seems to be a gentleman, a very calm man, a father figure. But they are just my sensations off the cuff."

Rossi led Palermo to the Coppa Italia final last season, losing to Inter, but won the trophy in 2009 with Lazio.
