Giovanni Branchini, the agent of Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo, has dismissed rumours that the Italy international is on his way to Inter.
The 26-year-old has a contract with his current club until the summer of 2012 and is refusing to agree to an extension, thus fuelling speculation that Fiorentina could sell him this summer.
The Artemio Franchi side recently ruled out a move to another Italian club though and Branchini has now confirmed that Inter are not Montolivo's new employer.
"Whether Montolivo could move to Inter? I'd say that's fantasy football and nothing more," Branchini said, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
Branchini then went on to discuss the proposed transfer of another player he represents, Andrea Poli, to Inter and stressed that his client's move from Sampdoria to Giuseppe Meazza could be completed on Monday.
"Monday could be the decisive day, we are in the closing stages. The player will be very pleased when the negotiations have a positive outcome."
Inter are believed to be on the verge of signing the Sampdoria midfielder on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.
