Jose Manuel Jurado could be on his way out of Schalke before the summer transfer window slams shut as Inter have shown an interest in signing the attacking midfielder, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini revealed on Monday that Inter are a bit short in midfield and the former Genoa tactician allegedly sees the 25-year-old Jurado as a useful addition to his roster.
Jurado joined Schalke from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2010, but the Spaniard has been unable to earn a regular starting role under coach Ralf Rangnick.
The midfielder has a contract until the summer of 2014 with his current club, but with a number of options ahead of him in the pecking order, the Gelsenkirchen side could be tempted to cash in on Jurado if the price is right.
Inter have yet to formally approach Schalke about Jurado's availability, but they're hopeful of signing the midfielder on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy.
