Man assaults ex-striker and ends up in court as Spanish magistrates gather to hear case following beach attack in Ibiza
Ex-Italy international Christian Vieri was left hospitalised following an attack that saw a former business partner bite him on the nose.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports the unnamed man, who is said to be an old associate of the former Inter star, attacked Vieri and bit him on the nose. The 38-year-old needed medical treatment after he was cut badly.

The incident happened on a beach in Formentera, Spain and Vieri described the attack as unexplainable.

Spanish magistrates will now preside over the case after the former Juventus player took his complaint to the authorities with his lawyer Danilo Buongiorno.

A verdict is expected to be delivered at a later date.
