Mounir El Hamdaoui could be on his way out of Ajax this summer as Udinese have shown an interest in signing the Moroccan ahead of the start of the 2011-12 Serie A campaign, Voetbal International reports.
Udinese are in the market for a new attacker following the departure of Alexis Sanchez to Barcelona and owner Giampaolo Pozzo has allegedly already met with El Hamdaoui and his representative Sigi Lens to discuss a potential summer move.
However, the 27-year-old's excessive wage demands could frustrate a transfer to the Italian Champions League hopefuls as he has asked for an annual salary of €1.5 million gross, which would make him Udinese's top earner.
El Hamdaoui has a contract until the summer of 2014 at the Amsterdam ArenA, but Ajax are ready to let go of the forward for a fee of €4m. The attacker has previously been linked with clubs such as PSV and Fulham.
The former AZ man is no longer needed at his current club after falling out of favour with head coach Frank de Boer and has been demoted to the reserves.
