Catania general director Pietro Lo Monaco has slapped an €8 million price tag on defender Matias Silvestre.
Juventus have shown an interest in signing the Argentinian centre-back, but Lo Monaco has made it clear that the 26-year-old will only leave the club if the price is right.
"Matias is without doubt one of the best defenders around in Serie A. We want €8m for him and are not interested in any special conditions or variables. I'll speak with [Juventus general director] Giuseppe Marotta on Friday to see what they want," Lo Monaco was quoted as saying by Tuttosport.
Lo Monaco then briefly responded to the rumours linking attacking midfielder Jorge Martinez with a return to Catania.
"I still think he's a great player and he can relaunch his career in the right surroundings. However, we can't offer him the same wage packet that he has at Juventus, so we'd need him to meet us halfway if something is to happen."
Martinez joined Juventus from Catania in the summer of 2010, but has so far been unable to make an impact at the Turin giants.
