Inter keeping tabs on Sao Paulo's Casemiro - report

Emerging youngster Casemiro has caught the attention of Italian powerhouse Inter with his sparkling performances for Sao Paulo and the Brazil under-20 team in the past few months, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The world champions are eager to add to their midfield in the summer transfer window, and have reportedly made Valencia's Ever Banega their primary target. However, the Spanish side are reluctant to lose the Argentina international, prompting Inter to begin assessing alternatives.

Casemiro, who has a contract until 2015 with the Brazilian side, has emerged as a possible option, but he is unlikely to be available on the cheap.

The 19-year-old has developed into a first-team regular at Sao Paulo since making his official debut in July 2010, and aside from Inter, Champions League winners Barcelona are also believed to be keeping tabs on the promising midfielder.

Casemiro is expected to feature for the Selecao at the upcoming Fifa under-20 World Cup in Colombia later this summer.
