Santos right-back Danilo has welcomed the interest of Portuguese giants Benfica, who are currently the front-runners to sign the Brazilian under-20 international, despite interest from AC Milan.
"I am excited [about Benfica's interes] because it is a great club, which is used to winning," he told Brazilian newspaper Record.
"They are an ideal team for my first European experience - especially as there is no language barrier."
However, Danilo's club Santos have insisted that the player will not be leaving the club under any circumstances and have already threatened to report Benfica to Fifa over their vigorous pursuit of the versatile player.
Danilo, who scored Santos' decisive second goal in the Copa Libertadores final victory over Penarol, had also attracted interest from AC Milan and their city rivals Inter, however, president Massimo Moratti's club now look set to sign his team-mate Jonathan as a potential replacement for Maicon.
