Stephan El Shaarawy has completed his highly-anticipated transfer from Genoa to AC Milan. Meanwhile Alexander Merkel has made his move to Genoa permanent after failing to cement a place in Massimiliano Allegri's future plans.
The announcement was made official through Milan's official club website, and was revealed to have been a co-ownership deal. Despite his tender age, El Shaarawy has attracted the interest of many big clubs from around the continent, including Inter, but the Rossoneri have won the race for his signature.
Meanwhile, German underage international Alexander Merkel has ended his link with the Serie A giants. He has joined Genoa in a similar deal to El Shaarawy, after making just six appearances for the club since joining in 2008.
