Genoa confirm Domenico Criscito will join Napoli on a co-ownership deal

€6 million for half of Italy international as Grifoni described deal with Azzurri as easy following agreement between both sides
Genoa director of sport Stefano Capozzucca has confirmed Domenico Criscito will join Napoli on a co-ownership deal and described the transfer as easy to complete.

On Thursday, Criscito, a 24-year-old Italy international, said he would even change position from left-back to centre-back to join his hometown club.

But, it appears that is not neccessary as Capozzucca revealed the transfer talks between both clubs were just a mere formality.

Speaking to Radio Crc, he said: "There was a strong will from Walter Mazzarri to have Criscito and so everything was very simple.

"The player was liked with a number of different clubs, but the two presidents [Enrico Preziosi] and [Aurelio De Laurentiis] were able to find an easy agreement."

Napoli will pay the Grifoni €6 million for half of his rights and they have an option to buy the remainder of his contract next year for a set fee which has not been disclosed.
