Brazil international Michel Bastos appears to be one step closer to Serie A as Italian powerhouse Inter have joined Juventus in the race for the Olympique Lyonnais winger's signature, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
The world champions are eager to add some creativity to their left side ahead of the 2011-12 campaign and they have allegedly earmarked the 27-year-old as the perfect addition to their squad.
Bastos initially appeared to be on his way to long-term admirers Juventus, but the Turin side have not yet agreed terms with the French outfit.
This has opened the door for Inter to attempt to hijack a deal for the energetic wide player, and they are thought to have already approached Bastos' agent to discuss a possible transfer.
The former Lille man, who is expected to gain a EU-passport within the next few weeks, has a contract with Lyon until the summer of 2013, but an offer in the region of €15 million could be enough to lure him away from the Ligue 1 outfit.
