Diego Simeone has left Catania after reaching an agreement with the club not to continue as their coach.
The Argentine was appointed the tactician of the Sicilian club in January this year, replacing Marco Giampaolo, and leaves after just over four months in charge.
Under Simeone, 41, Catania managed to retain their Serie A status as they finished 10 points above the relegation zone.
Reports in Italy give no definite indication of what his future holds, explaining that the former Inter and Lazio midfielder could remain in Serie A or move to Spain for a coaching stint in the Primera Division.
