Inter captain Javier Zanetti has insisted that tonight's 3-1 Coppa Italia final victory against Palermo was proof that his side will never tire from winning football matches, and feels it has been a successful season after lifting three trophies.
The 37-year old won yet another medal with his beloved Inter, who have come under some degree of scrutiny this campaign. However, he chose to put that all aside and praised his team for rediscovering their winning mentality once again.
"The Coppa Italia victory is a great joy for all those fans who deserve to finish this season in this manner. Inter is my family, I'm too in love with Inter, these pleasures are not forgotten," he said after the game.
AC Milan lifted this season's Serie A title, with the Nerazzurri coming in at second place. Despite their failure to win the league, Zanetti warned their rivals and critics alike that winning will always be associated with the club, whilst respecting their Milanese counterparts.
"We hope to continue to play and win for the team. Tonight we have the proof that we are not tired of winning, and this is our third trophy this season, we hope to always do well.
"We will continue to fight, as we are a strong team. But AC Milan are also a strong team."
As well as winning this year's Coppa Italia, Inter have also won the Supercoppa Italiana and the Club World Cup earlier this season under Rafa Benitez, against Roma and TP Mazembe respectively.
