Highly rated midfielder Blaise Matuidi could be on his way out of Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne at the end of the season as ambitious Serie A outfit Roma have shown an interest in signing him, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
Roma are desperate to add some fresh blood to their ranks in the summer transfer window and they have reportedly made the 24-year-old Matuidi one of their primary objectives on the transfer market.
Matuidi started his professional career with Troyes and joined his current club in the summer of 2007. The holding midfielder has since made well over 100 official appearances for Saint-Etienne.
The France international's good performances haven't gone unnoticed elsewhere and Matuidi is continually being linked with a move to a bigger club.
He has previously been linked with clubs such as Arsenal and Napoli, but his current contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2013.
