Versatile midfielder Ibrahim Afellay has caught the attention of struggling Serie A giants Juventus with his performances for La Liga titans Barcelona and Netherlands' national side, AS reports.
The Turin side have been in disappointing form this season and are unlikely to qualify for Champions League football. However, they are determined to be competitive again next term and are therefore looking to add quality to their ranks.
General director Giuseppe Marotta had already attempted to lure Afellay to Juventus in the January transfer window, but the former PSV star then opted to join Barca instead.
The 25-year-old has struggled to secure regular first team football at the Catalans, and Juve are hopeful that the winger remains interested in a move to Italy.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona are willing to let go of Afellay just yet. Head coach Pep Guardiola considers the Dutchman to be a valuable squad player, despite his limited playing time, and is keen to hold on to the wide man.
