AC Milan’s Giacomo Beretta delighted with Serie A debut against Bologna

Teenager is glad to have played his first game for the European powerhouses in the Italian first division

AC Milan youngster Giacomo Beretta is pleased to have made his debut for the Italian giants in Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

The 19-year-old striker came on as a substitute for Antonio Cassano on 86 minutes against Bologna at San Siro in a match that Massimiliano Allegri’s side won 1-0 to maintain their eight-point advantage at the top of the table.

Beretta was pleased to have made his debut in the Italian top flight and is quoted as saying by Milan’s official website: “It was very exciting to make my Serie A debut in front of 80,000 spectators. All of us are happy with the result.

“I wanted to score at all costs but it didn’t go my way. Anyway, I'll do better next time. I would like to thank coach Stroppa, who has taught me so much, and I want to dedicate my debut to my family and all those who love me.”

Milan’s next game in Serie A is against Roma at the Olimpico in Rome.
