Groningen attacker Tim Matavz is one step closer to leaving the Eredivisie side for ambitious outfit Napoli at the end of the season, as the Slovenia international has agreed personal terms with the current Serie A title challengers.
The prolific striker was close to moving to Naples in the January transfer window, and although the move eventually fell through, the Italians haven't given up on the attacker just yet.
"Tim [Matavz] has reached an agreement with Napoli. It's now up to the clubs to seal the deal. I'm confident that we'll be able to agree terms though following the latest developments," said Groningen's sporting director Hans Nijland to De Telegraaf.
The 22-year-old joined Groningen from Gorica in the summer of 2007 and has developed into the club's star striker in the past two seasons.
Groningen have reportedly set an €8 million asking price for the highly-rated frontman.
