The Argentine was on target for the Nerazzurri in their triumph against the Flying Donkeys at San Siro on Saturday evening, following their 5-2 home loss to Schalke in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, and also after their disappointing derby performance.
The 30-year-old told Inter Channel after the match: "Today we really needed some calm, after the two defeats and most of all for what had been created more outside than inside the club. Our fans have always believed in our possibilities. We did very well to move forward."
Looking ahead to the return leg against Schalke in Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday, Cambiasso added that the team must remain composed after a difficult week.
He stated: "In December this situation was really unthinkable, so we can't lose our heads over two defeats, because 45 years had passed without winning the Champions League, and this team did it."
Inter are currently two points behind leaders Milan in Serie A, with the Rossoneri facing Fiorentina on Sunday evening.
